Grace Episcopal Church

Our liturgy is an integral part of what makes Grace a special place. It is always carefully focused on the worship of God, and our church is widely appreciated for the quality of its liturgical practices.

There is a rich offering of special services throughout the year, especially during Holy Week. A Seder Meal is offered on Tuesday during Holy Week. Maundy Thursday is celebrated with the Liturgy of the Last Supper (with foot-washing). Good Friday and Holy Saturday services and the Easter Vigil help emphasize our commitment to Easter as the most important time of the Christian year. Two Christmas Eve services are also special events in our calendar. We celebrate and cherish the other seasons of the church year as well.

One of the highlights of the year is our annual "Blessing of the Animals." The diversity of our pets says a great deal about us as a parish. All are welcome in worship, from cats and dogs to snakes and llamas. The service becomes a noisy celebration of all of God's creation.

SUNDAYS

7:45 a.m. - Traditional Worship Service without music. The congregation appreciates a quieter, contemplative mode of worship.

9:00 a.m. - Family Worship. Music comes from both the renewal movement and the hymnal. There is a "children's sermon" and many families choose to worship together at this service. People of many different ages enjoy this more casual style of worship. The children's choir participates in this service. Prayers for healing are offered at this service. A prayer station is present with Healing Ministers.

10:00 a.m. - Christian Education for ages 3 through adult, with Nursery available for the youngest members.

11:15 a.m. - Worship with Adult Choir. The service music reflects the season of the church year while the hymns reflect the message of the readings. Prayers for healing is also offered at this service. A Healing Prayer station is also offered at this service.

A nursery is provided for ALL Sunday services. We encourage school-age children to worship with their families.
